The Cedars Housing Cooperative
A brief history
The Cedars Housing Cooperative has been a leader in the cooperative and affordable housing real from its inception, over 30 years ago. Most co-ops (as they are called familiarly) were seeded with government funds, but not The Cedars.
What began as a visionary step, funding was modest to say the least. This has grown to a nearly $20 million assessed value.
The co-op was built in two phases to where it is now, 84 units in both a quad and duplex configuration. An amenity structure -The Clubhouse- was then added. Today this social heart hosts nearly 200 events and meetings per year

The Cedars was and remains a well-managed nonmarket housing alternative. Improvements are continually being made to ensure the co-op remains up to date in all respects. This includes new thermal windows, aesthetically pleasing bay windows and new roofing.
Currently all units are undergoing a Poly B (butylene) to PEX conversion, this is the safest alternative, drastically reducing potential water pipe leaks
