The Cedars Co-operative Housing is designed for older adults (all registered members must be 55 years of age or older) who want to live independently while benefiting from a community-driven environment. In a co-op, residents collectively own and manage the housing, making decisions about maintenance, costs, and community activities.

Key Features of Seniors' Co-op Housing:

  1. Community Ownership & Control – Registered Members have a say in how the community is managed, unlike traditional rentals or condos.

  2. Affordability – Costs are typically lower than private housing since co-ops operate on a non-profit basis.

  3. Independent Living – Offers private units with shared amenities (e.g., dining areas, gardens, recreation rooms).

  4. Social Connection – Encourages a supportive, community-oriented lifestyle.

  5. Fixed Monthly Costs – Since co-ops are not profit-driven, registered members avoid large monthly maintenance fees.
